Thousands of Cybertrucks, rolling off the production line between November 2023 and April 2024, are being recalled due to a risk of the pedal getting stuck in the floor mat. Imagine accidentally hitting the gas instead of the brakes – not exactly the kind of ride anyone wants in a sci-fi pickup truck.


The good news? Tesla assures us a simple fix is on the way, and thankfully, the brakes will still override a stuck accelerator. The not-so-good news? This recall comes hot on the heels of several others for the electric car giant.


Just in the past few months, millions of Tesla vehicles have been recalled in China and the US for software glitches related to steering and autopilot systems. This latest snafu adds to the company's woes, which include slumping sales and a recent round of layoffs.


But wait, there's more! This isn't the first time Tesla's pedal assembly has raised eyebrows. A former engineer-turned-whistleblower claims to have flagged concerns about brake pedals in earlier Tesla models back in 2014.


While Tesla hasn't commented on these allegations, one thing's for sure: the company needs to tighten its metaphorical lug nuts when it comes to quality control. After all, when it comes to car safety, even the smallest slip-up can have major consequences.


So, what's the takeaway? Tesla's Cybertruck might have to wait a little longer to hit the road at full speed. But hey, at least the fix is free, and a little extra time on the assembly line never hurt anyone (hopefully).
